Tribute to Louis Xercès in Sainte-Marie, Martinique

Jean-Marc de Pas created a monumental bronze sculpture in tribute to Xercès Louis, the first Caribbean player to play for the French national team in the 1950s. It stands in front of the Louis Xercès soccer stadium in Sainte-Marie, Martinique, facing the sea.

This stadium would be the sixth soccer stadium in France with a sculpture of a soccer player; there are about a hundred of them in England…!
